The most famous skater in Washington is Darren Harper, who’s traveled the world for the sport, but remains committed to his native city. Mr. Harper grew up in Southeast D.C. and speaks to school kids frequently about how skateboarding helped keep him out of trouble.
Anyone remember Victor Page, a high-scoring guard who played for the Hoyas in the mid-90s? He’s currently behind bars.
He will always be a hero in my book. Outsiders just dont understand what its like to grow up in Southeast Washington DC. Im just glad out of all this he is still alive. I really wish he went to the NBA.
You live and you learn. Meek Millz gets a taste of how hard it is being a Skateboarder. Just to really think about it Lil Wayne is still learning. So do you think he has enough skill to try and teach another? If you ask me balance is key. After all A cave man would be able to do it after months to years of dedication and practice. The lesson here is everybody has to live and learn. No one gets it on the first try. Now will Meek be the next to pop up with a skate shoe deal and more big $$$ endorsements? We will see. … Stay tuned.
